The idea of Lightway Web Services came about in 2003 when I was learning to design websites. My company wanted a website built and that required web hosting services and a domain name. They turned to me to figure it out and I went to the web to look for what we needed.
There were many options for web hosting. There were a number of companies of different sizes and complicated websites. I didn’t know how to navigate the website and was unfamiliar with all of the services and products they offered.
Fortunately for me, my uncle owned a web design company and walked me through everything. I was able, with his help, to figure out how to get started and set up correctly. The key for me was having someone who was willing to answer my dumb questions and take time to help me understand how everything worked.
With this experience, I had the idea. I wanted to start my own company providing the same service. I wanted to provide web hosting and domain services for others. But instead of providing my customers with a call center, I wanted to provide the same hand-holding that I received.
And this is the purpose of Lightway Web Services. I want to make sure people who want a website, but don’t know what to do, have a place to go. And I want them to feel that they are getting the help they need, and understand the services that they are paying for.
